On Wednesday I celebrated my Thirtieth birthday. Yeah Yeah I know, I ‘m still a baby, and 30 is the new 20. I heard it all this week. But turning 30 doesn’t bother me, I ‘ve been 30 at all my triathlons this year anyway, and I am in way better shape now than I was when I was 20. I’ve done more this past year than I ever thought I could do, and more than some people do in a life time. I have some goals for next year( Ironman 70.3 Kansas, and Branson!!) and hopefully a full Ironman before I’m 40.
So to celebrate turning thirty,on Thursday I did a 1 mile warm up, and then 2×3 miles at half marathon pace, and then a mile cool down for a total of 8.
On Saturday morning I did a swim work out: 300 warm up, 6×150’s pull, and then 9×200’s fast, mod, mod-fast, fast. I was supposed to do 12×25’s but my goggles broke so I took it as a sign to leave. I had a great party Saturday night given by my wonderful fiance. He got me a princess cake, new cycling bibs and sleeveless jersey. How cool is that?
