Transition 12 Hours

I reluctantly rolled out of bed at 05:30 this morning to make the morning adult lap swim at Colony West.  The outside temperature was around 64 degrees but the pool was like bath water.  It took me awhile to warm up but eventually I got going and eventually ended the session with 5 straight laps.  Pretty good for me so don’t laugh.  I ended up with another 1000 yards.

After work I scrambled to make it out to New City for the Time Trial.  I wasn’t able to get there as early as I would have liked but I got a decent warm-up in.  My body was tired from the morning swim so I was a little apprehensive at the start.  After a couple of miles, just short of the riser, I got my rhythm.  I hadn’t passed anyone yet but I was feeling good about my time.

By the time I reached Brenda R., my 30 second person, she was bunched up with 2 others.  I didn’t want to be involved with trying to navigate 3 riders so I punched it to get by them all at once.  A few minutes after I passed them the inevitable happened.  I blew up.  Brenda then rode by my anaerobic mess.  Eventually I recovered and posted another PR.
