Run-Swim-Run

I haven’t been swimming since last Sunday’s near death experience.  Not because I was scared or burned out but just haven’t found the time.  I needed to get back in the pool today.

I ran the 5 miles to Colony West this morning and found the pool packed.  There were actually people waiting to get in by the time I got there at 10:30.  Lap swim begins at 10:00 so I thought I would just wait a few minutes and some lanes would open up.  As luck would have it I only had to wait about 10 minutes.  Which was good rest for me after the run.

I surprised myself by how good I felt.  It was so refreshing swimming where I was oriented and calm.  The water seemed like Propel compared to Lake Decatur.  I could actually see my arm.  I felt so good I got in 3 x 500 yards.  Farther than I have every swam.

The run home was not fun.  I was exhausted and tired.  But I made it anyway and have been a zombie the rest of the day.  10 miles running and 1500 yards swimming.  I’ll take tomorrow off.
