A Little Better

Reluctantly I descended my basement steps to get on the treadmill.  I just didn’t know how my leg was going to feel.  To psyche myself up I lifted weights for a while and did some stretches.  I wasn’t going to give up that easily.

As I increased the speed of the treadmill my leg wasn’t hurting as much as yesterday.  So I did a steady 08:34/miles for 2 miles and then took a break.  I lifted some more and stretched a little more.

The second time on the treadmill was a little more uncomfortable but I made it another 2 miles at 08:34 pace.  After 4 miles on the treadmill I was stiff and dejected.

I think I will still go to Champaign but my goal of setting a PR is gone and my expectations will be a lot less.
