An email went out from the Springfield Triathon Club that they were going to start having Sunday training sessions at the new Sports Care Building. I thought to myself, what a great opportunity to train with someone besides my tv set. The idea was people could bring their trainers and bikes and we would watch a training video. Well it turns out I was the only one to show up, besides John Gee of SportsCare. He was gracious to stick around, and ride.
We popped in a Chris Carmichael hill training video. The video targeted power by pushing a low gear up hill with a cadence of 60. Then spinning to recover with a cadence around 95. I placed my front wheel on a 6 inch block to help simulate a hill climb.
This was a change up to my normal indoor cycling routine with Coach Troy. The 45 minute routine was a tough workout. The sweat poured out of me. I followed up the cycling with a short mile run on the treadmill at a 8:30 pace.
I really enjoyed the workout.
