I have been cycling around 15 years and I feel like a novice commuter. I probably spent 15 minutes trying to figure out what to wear and how to go about doing it. I ended up wearing my cycling clothes (short sleeve, long sleeve, windbreaker, gloves, and shorts) and putting all my work cloths into my backpack.
I headed out around 8:00 the temp was in the 50’s or so. I didn’t see one other person on a bike. I pulled up in the Grab a Java drive threw for the free small coffee that they were giving away to cyclist. She even threw in a free coffee coupon. Grab a Java Rocks! (damn the Star Bucks).
It was then just a short jaunt to my office. I totaled 4 miles in 15 minutes (That included my coffee stop.)
I must commend people that do this on a daily basis. Whether they are doing it to save the planet, or save on the gas bill.
I really should do this more often. I might make it a Friday thing.
I will need a coffee cup holder though…
