Audi 5000

audi-5000That’s right, but I had to do 5000 first. Today’s track workout, David came up with some crazy crap. And if he wasn’t a Marine, I would have kicked his a#$! 5000 meter is a long way, and that is probably why we broke it up. 1000, 2000, 1000, 1000. Wow, I have never seen so many zeros in a workout. They planned on running the 1000s at 85 per 400, I choose to do 90.

My first 1000 was tough. I really thought about quitting, several times as I got dropped from the 85 second group. The next rep was a 2000 at 90 second laps. I started out, and thought I can do this. By lap 4 I was really wanting stop, but I hung in there and completed all 5 laps at the 6 minute pace.

If that wasn’t enough we still had 2×1000. I kept those at a 6 minute pace, and I wasn’t happy about doing them!

Tonight Jason and I took out the TT bikes for a warm up before meeting up with Gary, Mike and Mark. It was kind of everyman for himself. 28 mile in before dark, so I can’t complain.

That’s all I got, I’m Audi 5000!
