With the polka pace race out of the way I need to start focusing less on speed, and more on mileage. I have been sacrificing my long run to do extra speed sessions, or a swim workout. So this morning I headed out out for a longer run.
I went around 0900. The temp was perfect, and the rain hadn’t started. I kept my pace nice and easy. Around an 8:15 average. It was a nice 7 mile run.
I think the bad combination of some very high heels that I wore Saturday night, and the fact that I am due for a new pair of cushion running shoes, caused my knee pain that I experienced post run.
I paid the running center a visit and picked up a pair of Asics gel Kayano’s. This will be the 3rd pair of Kayano’s for me. I wore the 2120 previously, but I find the Kayano provides more stability. While I was there I picked up 2 packs of Gu roctane. One vanilla orange, and blueberry pomegranate. I can’t wait to try the new flavors.
