Let's rename it ride and no stride. Spinervals 10.0 a great 60 minute workout on the trainer with Coach Troy. I am trying to stay off my right foot for a couple of days to let it heal. I hope this weekends run, key workout #2, a half marathon at race pace, is pain free. I am not looking forward to it. … [Read more...]
Treadmill Me
Happy Valentines Day Rabbits! With less and less time in my schedule, my new treadmill is ever so convienient. I did my workout #2 of week 6 which is 3x2 miles at marathon pace. I skipped the half mile recovery inbetween intervals. So that put me at 6 miles for my treadmill work out. All I can say is that is was a workout, nothing special... … [Read more...]

Those Girls are Tough!
Monday's recovery workout was once again the Coach Troy's "UltraConditioning 3.0 - Ultra Full Body" or Iron Girl Workout. All I can say about this workout is that those girls are tough! By the end of the workout I had trouble lifting my arms from my side. The 1:20 workout incorporates strength conditioning with interval tempo training. Jumping on and off the bike to do strength training with … [Read more...]
Thank God for Your Training Partner!
To quote Jim Carey in The Mask, "Somebody stop me!" That was all I could hope for on today's run. I logged in just over 19 miles on my Garmin 301. That is over 40 for the week! I will say it wasn't easy. I probably stopped and walked a half a dozen times in the last 4 miles. I was pretty much delusional... I took 2 bottles of Accelerade, a bag of Sport Beans and a Clif Bar. I wanted to … [Read more...]

A Hard Five
I wouldn't say I put forth a hard effort, but had a hard time getting through it. 5 miles logged on the treadmill at a 8:30 pace. My legs and butt were both sore, from lifting and running yesturday, but I finished. I might take tomorrow off to prepare for Saturdays 18. … [Read more...]
Running in the Dark
It was dark outside but I was in the comfort of my warm home. I was not able to run until 8 pm. I am not sure if I have ever waited this long, but I had pizza for dinner. I felt pretty tired because I lifted … [Read more...]

Race against myself
Workout #2 for week 4 of my St. Louis Marathon training plan. I did a 5k at race pace on the treadmill. I wanted to finish around 20 minutes, but fell short by 30 seconds. Not too bad for the off season. I have not training at that intensity since October. So, I am please with my results today, and hope that It helps my marathon training. Next weekend I am back to the long run. I am not … [Read more...]
