Ran it three years in a row. One year some guy named Meb Kflezighi was in the race with me. Yeah, I never saw him. The elite racers start at the line, and everyone else starts in waves based on time. That year I registered late and was placed in one of the slow groups. When I finally got to the Brady street start line, the announcer was saying "smile- you have no chance of winning!" I think that quote changed my life. Immediately after finishing, I sought out the beer trailer that was so strategically located next to the finish line. The hangover I experienced the next day was not helped by attending a raucous morning church service with music provided by one of the jazz bands we saw the previous night, but it was an experience I would recommend to anyone.

2008 was my 24th Bix. First one in 1978 (53:17) at age 39. This year 94:42, which was a few seconds faster than last year. I agree with everything you wrote about the Bix. I've taken to walking more on the uphills, and in really hot weather (2 years ago it was about 79 at the start), running in the shade and walking in the sun.
Next year no.25!
