Flexibility

Runners are not the most flexible people.  We notoriously  have tight hamstrings, and quads.  I could use to do more stretching or yoga.  I have learned to be more flexible with my training.  I am the queen of over training, and feel horribly guilty if I miss a work out, but who wants to stress over that.  Life happens and you have to adjust. 

Tonight for example, the nursery at FC west is closed today and tomorrow for renovations.  According to my Wednesday night schedule, I should have been at 1600 powerzone, followed by track a  workout.  Instead I did my track workout on the treadmill.  I did a half mile warm up, then 1600, 1200, 800, 400.  Staring at a 10K pace increasing the speed to my 2mile pace.  Then  a half mile cool down.

After the treadmill, I went to ballzone at Fc south.  I have never done this class before, but it was great.  You really have to utilize your core muscles to balance on the ball, especially while working chest, and biceps.  After the ball zone class there was a 20min ab attack.  This was the best ab work out I have had.  The music was loud, and fun, and the guy that was teaching the class didn’t  stop.  We did lots of old school abs.  Planks, v sits, etc. I might have to change my Wednesday routine more often.  Throwing something new in your training plan is great for the body, and for the mind.
