Parade run fun!

By Kim • Aug 7th, 2008 • Category: Kim's Training Log

Parade run 2008 76 The parade run was everything I expected it to be. I was worried about parking, so I got there around 1630.   I registered and got my chip.  I was so glad Allison was an early bird too.

I wanted to do 2- 6:30miles.  I started running and looked at my garmin “6:00 min/miles”  too fast.  You get caught up in the run.  I settled into a nice 6:30 pace, trailing jack until the turn around.  I slowed down a bit on the last mile.  I was running a 6:49 when I looked.

I ended up finishing with a 13:25.  I wanted to finish under 13:30, so I was happy.  This was by far my fastest time.  I think I ran a 13:50 the last time I ran this race.  I won 1st in my age group!

After the race I enjoyed a few import beers.  Just what I needed.  Congrats to all the winners, especially to Allison! You go girl!

  1. Good job last night Kim. I too had an import. Hooray beer! See you at Abe’s!

  2. You rock! You are getting faster and faster. I cant keep up with you anymore. I need to start speed training next year.

  3. Aaron, is that a picture of you wearing a shirt? I almost didn’t recognize you. I’m used to the sans-shirt look.

  4. I wear a shirt on occassion. As the weather cools off I’ll wear shirts more often after races but I probably won’t wear a shirt in a race until Shoreline in late September.

  5. Thanks, Kim! AWESOME job to you — you really kicked some butt! Love the pics! I will see you Sunday for Abe’s, either running or cheering Kelly and I on :)
