I headed out the door to run workout 1 of week 6. This consists of 3 x 2 mile runs at marathon pace with 1/2 mile recovery between intervals. I decided to leave the Garmin at home and run old school style; without GPS. It was my usual 7 mile course and I knew all the mile markers so I was just going to do 3 intervals without knowing my pace but knowing the distance. I was feeling good so I set my pace at a pretty hard tempo; much more difficult than marathon pace. I hope that doesn’t hurt me for this weekend’s 15K at race pace. I felt good during the run but now my legs are extremely sore. Oh well.
