Like A Heat Wave

Busted out of work early and eagerly waited for Sandy to get home.  As soon as the car door slammed shut I was on the pavement.  It was 42 degrees outside but felt like a heat wave considering the sub-zero temperatures the previous week.  It felt good to be running outside again.  It’s been a while.  I opted for trail shoes anticipating some slushy sidewalks.  I was right.  There were patches of ankle deep snow, patches of slush, and patches of pavement.  The north side of Washington St. is definitely better than the south side.  I finished with 6.5 miles at a jogging pace.  I was soaking wet from sweat.
