I think this is what I learned today at my noon track club debut. We started of with 1600, 1200, 800, 400, with 400 to recover between sets. It was toughest thing I have ever done at lunch. I did the first two sets at a 6:00 pace. The rest was just a blur.
I may need to make this a regular thing. Doing a track workout with others is much more motivating then by your self, or with Jason alone…
I hope these make me a better runner.

Is this at Springfield High? Does everyone go at the same time?
Yah, it is at the SHS Track at noon on Tuesday. There were probaby at least 10 people. And they are fast. Like I said in the post, they are a great motivator. You should come out, we were done in 40 minutes.
FYI…We did have to climb over or under the fence to get in.
It sounds like practically every winner of any running race in Springfield frequents the Track Club. So if you can hang with those freaks you are doing pretty well.
good point
I don’t run with those guys but then again the only reason I’ve won a few races is because those guys don’t show up!!! I wish my work schedule was more flexible so I could come to those practices on occasion.
Agree with Dan. Group track workouts help me get the intervals in. I’ve been going to KT’s track work on Wed. nites. They always have a huge group of folks, all different speeds. I NEVER would do the volume or pace of intervals on a regular basis by myself. Three cheers for organizers of these types of group runs!
I told you this on the track Dan, but that is one of the toughest track workouts you can do in 40 minutes. …And kudos for making it through the entire thing on your first track workout with us.
Next week we’ll be looking towards Scholastic, so the focus will be shorter and faster.
