Treadmill Me

Happy Valentines Day Rabbits!  With less and less time in my schedule, my new treadmill is ever so convienient.  I did my workout #2 of week 6 which is 3x2 miles at marathon pace.  I skipped the half mile recovery inbetween intervals.  So that put me at 6 miles for my treadmill work out.  All I can say is that is was a workout, nothing special... … [Read more...]

The Belt Beneath My Feet

I took in 5 mile treadmill run.  I felt pretty strong, considering this was my first run after Saturday's 19.  I kept it between a 7:30 and 8:00 pace.  My right foot is acting up again.  I may need to try some inserts. … [Read more...]

Those Girls are Tough!

Monday's recovery workout was once again the Coach Troy's "UltraConditioning 3.0 - Ultra Full Body" or  Iron Girl Workout.  All I can say about this workout is that those girls are tough!  By the end of the workout I had trouble lifting my arms from my side.  The 1:20 workout incorporates strength conditioning with interval tempo training.  Jumping on and off the bike to do strength training … [Read more...]

Thank God for Your Training Partner!

To quote Jim Carey in The Mask,  "Somebody stop me!"  That was all I could hope for on today's run.  I logged in just over 19 miles on my Garmin 301.  That is over 40 for the week!  I will say it wasn't easy.  I probably stopped and walked a half a dozen times in the last 4 miles.  I was pretty much delusional...  I took 2 bottles of Accelerade, a bag of Sport Beans and a Clif Bar.  I … [Read more...]

Too Nice Outside

With the temperature at 48 degrees I gave in to temptation.  I put in an easy 4 miles on my day off.  Of course once I started my run the clouds came out and it cooled off.  I am looking forward to 18 miles tomorrow. :-D … [Read more...]

A Hard Five

I wouldn't say I put forth a hard effort, but had a hard time getting through it. 5 miles logged on the treadmill at a 8:30 pace. My legs and butt were both sore, from lifting and running yesturday, but I finished. I might take tomorrow off to prepare for Saturdays 18. … [Read more...]

Running in the Dark

It was dark outside but I was in the comfort of my warm home. I was not able to run until 8 pm. I am not sure if I have ever waited this long, but I had pizza for dinner. I was on my workout #1 for week 5 of marathon training plan. I started off will a warm up mile at 8:30 pace. Then I went into my 3x2 mile intervals with a .5 mile recovery in between. I felt pretty tired because I lifted … [Read more...]

Meet my best friend, Mr. Treadmill

34 degrees and raining... No choice but to hang out with Mr. Treadmill. I hit the revolving belt for 5 miles today at 7:30 pace. I felt great and put forth a good effort. I did get to catch up on the CNN Election Result. … [Read more...]

Race against myself

Workout #2 for week 4 of my St. Louis Marathon training plan.  I did a 5k at race pace on the treadmill.  I wanted to finish around 20 minutes, but fell short by 30 seconds.  Not too bad for the off season.  I have not training at that intensity since October.  So, I am please with my results today, and hope that It helps my marathon training.  Next weekend I am back to the long run.  I am … [Read more...]

5 miles up hill

Well, up hill on a treadmill.  I didn't get the balls to head outside today.  It is just so easy to head downstairs and hit the treadmill and watch tv.   The roads were as sloppy as Anna Nicole on Valium.  I didn't want to get my new shoes dirty.  So I did a easy run up hill, starting at 2% and increasing 1 every mile.  I was only running at 7mph or 8.34 pace.  The run was easy, and I … [Read more...]
