ANOTHER race in Chatham? Man, I’m gonna have to do it now.
3rd overall in 20:00 with Joe T. winning in 18:31. It was a little on the chilly side but the course was nice.
Great Job Aaron. I sounds like a slow race?
dictionary.com defines slow as : 1. moving or proceeding with little or less than usual speed or velocity. 2. characterized by lack of speed: a slow pace. 3. taking or requiring a comparatively long time for completion. Or 11. running at less than the proper rate of speed or registering less than the proper time. 18.31 winning time a slow race? hmmm, dan can i borrow your shoes?
I think what Dan was trying to say is that the race wasn’t as competitive as others in the area this year. 18:31 is a walk in the park for Joe T. as he has gone under 18:00 in other races this year and I ran about 40 seconds slower than my season best on Saturday and was 15 seconds behind the guy in second and 45 seconds ahead of the guy in 4th. It was a nice opportunity to get a tempo run in but it wasn’t a fast PR day.
That being said, I think that if this race becomes a staple in the area more people will come to it and it will become more competitive as the course is pretty nice. It rolls and winds its way through the southeast side of Chatham and has some nice flat straights that you can hammer on.
Yes, size 10 Zoots. They are fast, but I will go along with Aaron.
