Today was a perfect track workout The temperature was 80 degrees and the workout was manageable. 1600 - 5:57 800 - 2:52 400 - 1:15 (75) 400 - 1:15 (75) With each rep we did a 400 recovery. Later in the evening it was training race time. Sprint night to be exact! We were back on course, and most of the rock/gravel was smoothed into the shitty tar roads. There was a huge … [Read more...]
Windy And Fast
I was still feeling the affects of the epic 100 miler from Saturday. Rolling out of the driveway at 17:30 I was comfortable at 10 mph. Anything over that and I felt I was pushing the pace. Dan and I rode our usual loop and discussed Saturday's ride. The group tonight was sizeable. I'm guessing around 20 or more. The wind was strong out of the NW but the temperature was pleasant. It … [Read more...]

Sub-60 (not me)
With Terry out of town and few suggestions coming from the group, we didn't have much of a plan going into the workout on the track. A few phone calls and it was suggested that we attempt a quarter under 60 seconds (basically all out). Not exactly what I was itching for, but none-the-less, it was a suggestion. Run After The Storm

Touching the Tundra
By Jacob Klug If you have ever seen me at one of the local races here in Springfield, you can see just by looking at me that I am a Green Bay Packers fan. Over the last two or three years, on race day, I have dressed myself in the Packers color scheme of some sort for a couple reasons. First being, that I am a huge fan. Second, it makes it easy for my family and friends to spot me at a … [Read more...]
Holy Hell
There was a smaller crowd this morning at the masters swim. I know a lot of people had swim meets and other plans, so they swim earlier. After the warm up, we started with 10x50's. My speed is still good , so I can keep up on these. Then we did 3x300's, 3x200's. My endurance on these kind of sets is not quite back, I struggled to keep up. Last we did 6x100's odds on the 1:40, evens on … [Read more...]
Century Saturday
I showed up at Jason's house at 5:30 in the A.M. I was the last one there. Jason, Eric, Lance, Steven were hanging out in the driveway having coffee. Jason had prepared an nice little table with a greasy towel for a table clothe and had coffee cups and a pot of coffee waiting for us. It was great having another cup of coffee before we set out on our journey. Once again out plan was to … [Read more...]
