She’s back

britneyspears

I admit it, I wrote Britney Spears off when she started getting all crazy, but I have to confess; I love her new song, Womanizer.  It was the best song to listen to this morning.  I woke up at 0500 to start my run, I was out the door by 0530.  It was still dark out and there was just a little drizzle.  I started going south on Koke Mill, the wind felt like it was pushing me back home.  … [Read more...]

Just a swim post…

It's Thursday night and I have no where else to be, except in the pool.  I am trying to make an effort to get 2 swims in a week.  Having done my long run yesterday, a swim would do me good.  I totaled 4500 yards.  The longest set I 've done in a while.  Here is the work out : (600/600) warm up Drill:  3x200 #1: 50 fist/50 finger tip drag #2: 50 fist/50 free #3: 50fist/50 … [Read more...]

Liar

henryrollins

I think it was The Rollins Band that had that song "Liar". Today I am a liar as my last post indicated I wouldn't wear shorts again this year. Well today I went running (for the first time in a while) in shorts. It always feels good to run in shorts but by the time I got back I was a little chilly. I left the house in the daylight but returned in the dark so the temperature dropped … [Read more...]

Drugs and Alcohol

drugs

Lilly Tomlin once said, "Exercise is for people who can't handle drugs and alcohol."  I think  she was probably on to something.  All of them have an addictive behavior. Yesterday I got on the trainer for an hour and twenty minutes while watching Coach Troy's Time Trialapalooza.  Today I headed out for a short run over lunch hour. (gotta love the daylight)  I would really love to take a … [Read more...]

Follower

Well, I did it, I'm a follower. (Clarence stop reading) I joined Twitter.  I am only following a few people right now, including Dan, and Lance Armstrong.  After Joining the revolution, I set out for my long run.  I had long tights on to start, but as soon as I stepped out side, I ran back in and changed to shorts.  It somehow looked like it should have been colder.  I Started with a … [Read more...]

Finding the Right Trail Shoe

zappos

Finding the right shoe could take an eternity for some.  I easily fall into that group.  Many people that I know are able to stay with one brand or one model.  I guess if the shoe fits, just wear it. I was at task to find a new pair of trail shoes for the fall season.  Now this is not an easy task in the small Springfield, IL market.  Now don't get me wrong, I fully support the small local … [Read more...]

Twilight

I spent my Sunday night on the couch, reading for 3 hours straight.  I am completely addicted to the Twilight series, by Stephenie Meyer.  I didn't finish book one last night, but got half way. After work I went to fc and did an hour of weights in powerzone class, and then headed to the treadmill.  I secretly could not wait to get home and finish the first book, and start on #2.  I did a 15 … [Read more...]

Al Gore Interview

I just got back from a 6 mile run. I planned on doing at least 10, but it wasn't until I was out running that I realized how late it was. The sun was setting and I didn't think about wearing my reflective vest or anyting. I guess that is what I get for putting it off until late afternoon. I also dvr'd Ironman Coeur D’Alene today.  It is also on Monday at 4:00 on VS (comcast 549). I will have … [Read more...]
