My toe is still a little tender so running is still not an option yet. So Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday I rode the trainer for about 30 minutes each time. It seems my cycling legs were a little rusty as it took until Sunday before I felt I could push a good gear. Contrary to Dan's trainer workouts these sessions were not that special. Simply increasing my gearing over 30 minutes until I was … [Read more...]
Crazy Busy
This has been a crazy busy week. My dad and step mom are in from Alabama, and of course Thanks giving. I made it out Thursday morning for a run. I ran to the park, and to the shelter. I stood by the fire they had built, and waited for a few minutes to see who would show. I couldn't wait too long, so I took off and did 4 miles at a tempo pace about 7 min miles, ad the a mile back home. There … [Read more...]

Underestimate
Last night we went to the Howl at the Moon party at Panther Creek, So this morning when it came time for a run, a few miles would be sufficient. Steven and I decided to run to his house and back, so he could grab something he needed from his house. " It will probably be 5-6 mile total." Wecan handle that. Well I was right about the 5 miles part...one way. By the time we got to his house it … [Read more...]
Jingle all the way
It was a chilly 20 something degrees when I woke this morning. Great day for a race. Right? The best thing about the Jingle Bell run, is that it starts at 1000. I got up around 0700 made some breakfast, and assembled my festive running outfit. Dr. Di made a call on Friday, and voila I was part of the Springfield Clinic Skeleton Crew. I decorated my shirt the night before. I planned on wearing … [Read more...]
Culture Shock
The family went to see "Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa" tonight. This was the first time we have taken both kids to a movie together so it has been quite a while since I've been to a theater. Man, did I get some culture shock. I found out retrospectively that tonight was the premier of "Twilight". A highly anticpated movie based on a series of books about a girl who falls in love with a vampire. … [Read more...]
A Bone to Pick
I have a bone to pick with comcast. (my apologies if anyone works for them.) I woke at 0530 this morning to do a yoga work out. I normally go to the on demand menu on the TV, and to free spot. Exercise Tv hasa ton of yoga, pilates ,and ab work outs. This morning, however, some thing had changed. The free spot, and the exercise TV channel were no longer on the On demand menu. I searched … [Read more...]
