Ice My Knee
I woke up early this morning and did 3.5 miles on the treadmill just to get a good start to the day. I had planned to do sprint work after work. I got to the park and start with a 1 mile warm up. My knee was really hurting, so for once I listened to my body and quit after 2 miles. I headed to pick up the kids and went to fit club. I ended up doing a sprint workout in the pool. 4x 200 … [Read more...]
Double Up
I had a lot of energy today. It started off with a moderate run at lunch. I got in about 4 miles. After work was the training race (Biketec 6:00). I was eager to get out on my new bike "Lola." It was sprint night, so the regroup was in effect for all the sprints except the last. I took it easy on the the first. I didn't want to start lighting any matches yet. I felt good, and the … [Read more...]
Brrrrrr
Departure temp was 52. I thought I was done with leg warmers but apparently not. This was sprint night. I basically stayed in the group the whole ride without contesting any sprints. I am still trying to find my bike legs and use these sprint nights as a good way to spin because you know you won't get dropped. So I remained nestled in the peleton trying to spin and stay anonymous. The word … [Read more...]
Running with IG
The weather has been more then uncooperative. Between the wind, the rain and the damn cold temps, I will probably be running on the treadmill in the middle of summer. I did't have a whole lot of time, so I thought I would change things up. I put on the Iron Girl total body workout. But instead of riding my bike on the trainer, I opted for the treadmill. I started our with a warm-up … [Read more...]
Sullivan Sprint Triathlon
This was my first time doing the Sullivan Sprint Triathlon, and overall it was a great race. The weather held out until we finished. It took about a hour and 20 minutes to get there. It was easy to check in and get your, chip, get marked, etc. [Results] [Photos] The pool at the Sullivan civic center is very impressive. We lined up according to submitted times. Being a fairly good … [Read more...]
Paris-Roubaix
Did anyone catch Paris-Roubaix on Versus? It was pretty exciting. Tom Boonen ended up beating Fabian Cancellara and Alessandro Ballan in a 3-rider sprint. However, how it got to that point was the exciting part because once the 3 entered the velodrome it was nothing but a formality on who was going to win. Earlier in the race the 3 were involved in a 10 rider break. Ballan had chased … [Read more...]
Flanders Weather
This weekend has reminded me of the time I spent in Amsterdam. The weather was either sunny and windy or cloudy and drizzling. Today was no exception. The entire day was on again/off again drizzle. Not rain, just enough drizzle to piss you off and make you not want to go outside. At departure the temperature was 48 degrees with an Esterly wind at around 8 mph. 3 things motivated me to … [Read more...]
I Care for Residents 5k/10K Walk/Run
The wife is out of town so this rabbit had to wake up extra early for today's race. The race began at 09:30 but because I had to get the kids up, change them, stuff breakfast in them, then pick up my Mom I had to wake up at 06:00. My Mom is going to watch the kids while I run. [A few more photos] About 120 participants were greeted with strong winds and below average temperatures for … [Read more...]
Forever Blue

After taking Friday off, I thought I would put in a long run today. I didn't partake in the Sherman "I Care" run, and really didn't want the stress of another race. The Sullivan Sprint is on Sunday and I didn't get registered for that either. So this should be a great weekend! I made it out for a run around 4:00pm, I was waiting for it to warm up. The temps crested in the 60's and … [Read more...]
