Epiphany

I convinced Danoh to step off the treadmill, take off his dress, and join me outside for a "real" run.  Today we were supposed to do 5, 2 mile intervals.  So, this was going to be an 11 mile mid-week run.  This is a lot for me during the week.  I don't think I've run 11 miles in 1 day during the week that wasn't a holiday.  Plus, I was just started to feel better from my sickness.  It was … [Read more...]

A Hard 10

A Hard 10 for key workout number 1 of week 8 for the 12 week marathon training plan. I met up with Jason a mile into the run. He convinced me to run outside, in the blizzard like conditions. Oh how I love the treadmill when is cold out. Anyhow, we kept a solid 8:00 pace or less all the way to the park. On the way back we picked it up a bit. I felt rather good for some reason and forgot Jason … [Read more...]

Miles…

Trying to get my miles in this week has been difficult.  After the my 20 mile run on Sunday, I rode on Monday and took Tuesday off.  So today, I was able to get 5 miles in on the treadmill.  I kept a 7:30 pace.  I am on my second week of N.O. Expode and Cellmass.  I will say that I have seen a diffences in my performance and my muscle definition.  My weight seems to be holding steady … [Read more...]

Better

I'm starting to feel better.  I rode the trainer today for about 30 minutes while watching the Tennessee/Vanderbilt game.  It was easier to turn the pedals but I still feel way behind.  Tomorrow is a big day. … [Read more...]

Worn Out

Trying to recover from the long run on Sunday, I went ahead and did the Iron Girl workout. I like getting a ride in. It really gets your tired legs moving. I made it for about 45 minutes and quite before doing the lunges. I didn't think my legs had it in them. I did feel better afterwards. I am going to take Tuesday off to recover. … [Read more...]

4.5

Well, it was 1.5 miles longer than yesterday's run.  I ran 4.5 miles today in pretty good conditions.  It was still light when I got back and I had a tailwind home.  I did have to walk twice but whose counting?  I can feel myself improving, thankfully. … [Read more...]

Image is Everything

No matter how hard you train, most of us will never get close to pro status. Then there are mediocre professionals. They are great in their own right, but not everyone can be a Lance Armstrong. If there was no mediocrecy where would the peleton be? To bring the average in to public view, we have "image." What started my thoughts on this subject was when I started watching the Amgen Tour of … [Read more...]

Due to conflicting schedules I wasn't able to run with Danoh today.  He left too early for me.  Lucky for him I didn't join him.  I am feeling like crap today.  I was only able to make it 3 miles today.  That's 17 miles short of my goal, ouch!.  Plus, I felt dizzy the entire time.  I would have only held him back.  When will this sickness end.  I am starting to panic because of my sinking … [Read more...]

Take it to the limit

I was flying solo today on my 20 mile run (where in the world was my training partner?). I felt suprisingly good. I did two loops, first out west, then ran by the house for more accelerade, and then headed east to the park. I was able to take in 6 podcast from Diggnation, the Competitors Radio Show, 3 episodes of Endurance Planet, and a Episode of Tri-Talk. Wow the time when bye. I even had … [Read more...]
